Based on MetaEra, on October 13 (UTC+8), Akash Network founder Greg Osuri announced the project will deprecate its self-developed Cosmos SDK chain and migrate to a new network that can 'secure Akash.' The team aims to maintain IBC compatibility and will publicly evaluate potential chain candidates, emphasizing strong security, high-quality community, deep liquidity, and growth potential. The team will retain integrations with Osmosis and Keplr. Osuri stated the staking mechanism will 'evolve into something better' and will not be limited to consensus security. An RFP will be released in weeks, and Solana was called a 'strong candidate.' Akash introduced Nvidia GPU support in Mainnet 6 in 2023 to provide decentralized computing power at lower costs.
