Citing Biji.com, Sherlock, a leading smart contract security firm, has released a public beta of its AI-powered smart contract auditor, Sherlock AI. The tool uses artificial intelligence to identify vulnerabilities in smart contracts and assist teams in audit preparation. The system aims to help developers understand contract vulnerabilities before and after traditional audit checkpoints. The release addresses a long-standing issue in the audit model, where vulnerabilities often emerge between formal reviews. Instead of relying solely on periodic audits, Sherlock AI integrates security into the development process, scanning commits and pull requests to generate actionable data for developers. Top TVL protocols are reportedly participating in the beta. Jack Sanford, Sherlock co-founder and CEO, emphasized that the tool embeds security into the development lifecycle, enabling teams to identify and fix critical issues early. According to Chainalysis, $2.2 billion was stolen in 2024 through hacks and platform vulnerabilities, highlighting the need for more continuous oversight. The beta version was developed in collaboration with top researchers and auditors. Early users reported reduced rework and improved audit readiness. Sherlock AI is still in testing and will be refined based on developer feedback. The company plans to expand integrations beyond GitHub in the coming months.
