Strategy Adds 220 BTC as Crypto Market Recovers After $19 Billion Liquidations

In accordance with CoinJournal, Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy) acquired 220 BTC between October 6 and October 12 for approximately $27.2 million, raising its total Bitcoin holdings to 640,250 BTC. Bitcoin rebounded above $115,000 following a record $19 billion in crypto liquidations last week. Ethereum and Ripple also recovered as the overall crypto market capitalization surpassed $4 trillion. The company’s average acquisition price for Bitcoin is $74,000, with a total investment of around $47.4 billion. Strategy temporarily paused its weekly acquisitions at the end of the quarter. The firm reported an unrealized gain of $3.89 billion on its digital assets for the quarter ended September 30, alongside a deferred tax expense of $1.12 billion.
