As per Cryptonews, U.S. lawmakers are urging the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to revise rules to allow 401(k) retirement plans to include alternative assets like cryptocurrency, following President Donald Trump’s August 7 executive order. House Financial Services Committee Chairman French Hill and Ranking Member Maxine Waters called on SEC Chair Paul Atkins to act swiftly, including recognizing FINRA-certified professionals as accredited investors. The move aims to expand investment options for 90 million Americans in employer-sponsored retirement plans and could bring crypto exposure to millions of savers.
