How to Complete Individual Verification (KYC) via App

All new users must complete identity verification and make a fiat deposit to access KuCoin TR's products and services. The identity verification process includes providing personal particulars, taking ID photos, knowing occupation and income detials, address verification and video verification. This procedure is part of our commitment to preventing illicit activities such as money laundering and terrorist financing.

 

Note: In accomplice with the requirements from MASAK, all Turkish real persons and legal entities registered will be onboarded with remote KYC, and only the Turkish ID card will be accepted for remote KYC.

1. Completing Identity Verification

Step 1. Log in to your KuCoin TR account on the App. Select your profile, proceed to the Identity Verification section, and complete 5 steps of verification process.

Step 2. Follow the guidance on Identity Verification page and complete all steps.

Step 3. Complete ID Card and Liveness Check and update your personal information

Upload a photo of your ID using your chosen method. For this, you may need to have enabled camera permissions on your device.

Then fill in your personal information: First name, Last name, TCKN, Mother’s Name, Father’s Name

Note: All of these info should match with your personal identity document.

 

Step 4. Complete Occupation and Income Details

After you fill in or choose all the below information, then agree "I confirm that I am acting on my own behalf and not for the benefit of anyone else."

Step 5. Complete Address Verification

You are suggested to log in e-State system to update your Proof of Address, then get the Barcode number from e-State system to fill in here.

Step 6. NFC Verification

Completing NFC verification by scanning your ID Card with your mobile phone.

Note:Before starting the NFC verificaiton, please ensure that your mobile phone support NFC function and has NFC enabled.

Step 7. Complete Video Verification

Follow the intruction on video verifcation page and Start the Call.

Step 8. Click "Ok" to complete the submission

Once you complete the whole verification process, it will enter manual review process. Usually, it will take not more than 24 hours. You may check your Identity Verification page for any update.

 

 

Important note: 

1.The service time for video verification is available from 9am to 10 pm(UTC+3). For better experience, please do not connect to operator during non-working hours.

2.You do not have to wait on the "Under Review" page after completing video verification, you can click “×” at the left top corner properly and then click "Ok" to complete the submission.

3.Before you start the video verification, please prepare ready for the below:

  • Have your ID documents ready. You will be asked to present your ID Card to complete the verification.
  • No Public Spaces. Find a quiet, well-lit room and avoid cafes, streets etc.
  • Alone in the room. Please be the only person present during the video verification.
  • Good device with available camera.
  • Stable Internet. Please ensure a stable Internet connection.

 

 

2. Completing a Fiat Deposit 

i. Obtain Bank Details

Upon completing identity verification, the Identity Verification page will display bank details, including the Payee Name and IBAN.

 

ii. Make an offline transfer

a. Check the bank detail from the KYC verification page.

b. Copy the IBAN information to your bank APP, transfer an any amount of TRY to the provided bank account on the identity verification page.

 

iii. Confirm transfer completion

Once your transfer is completed, you can view the verification results in the "Identity Verification" section again. Congratulations, your personal veriifcation is now fully completed.

 

3.Possible Reason that your Verification Failed

  • Mismatched personal information with your ID Card
  • Incorrect/Expired Barcode number
  • Not clear photo of your ID document and selfie uploaded
  • Not only one person present in your camera

Q: What if the my personal identity doment is expired?
A: Once your ID Card is expired, please contact our official customer service suport team with your new dcument, they will help you re-verify your account.
 
Q: My name updated, how can I change my full name on KuCoin TR.
A: Please contact our official customer service suport team with your new dcument, they will help you re-verify your account.
 
Q: I have completed verification before without video verification, should I complete the verification again.
A: Existing users who have already completed Identity Verification will not be affected. However, in the future, they will also be required to renew their identity verification based on the Remote Identity Verification process. You may stay tuned on our announcement.
 
Q: I am below 18 years old, I want to trade on KuCoin TR, is it okay?
A: Thank you for your interest in KuCoin TR. Currently, individuals under the age of 18 is not supported on KuCoin TR. We look forward you to re-join in us again when you are above 18 years old.
 
Q: I am from other country, such as Germany, can I open a KuCoin TR account?
A: KuCoin TR is specifically designed to cater to Turkish residents, including foreign users residing in Turkey. However, we are currently unable to enroll foreign users. We will keep you updated once our platform is ready to accept foreign users residing in Turkey. 
 

Q: How long time you will take to approve my verification?

A: The manual review may take 24 hours, you may check your identiry verification page from time to time. Thank you for your patience.

 

Q: I have an individual verified account, can I swith to institutional verified account? 

A: Individual account and institutional account cannot switch to each other. Once your account completed individual verification, this account cannot complete institutional verification anymore. We suggest that you may register a new KuCoin TR account to verify as an institutional account.
