Based on HashNews, BNB Chain validators have proposed reducing the minimum gas price from 0.1 Gwei to 0.05 Gwei and shortening the block interval from 750 milliseconds to 450 milliseconds. If approved, the changes are expected to lower average transaction fees to around $0.005, potentially boosting on-chain transaction volume and improving competitiveness against chains like Solana and Base. BNB Chain has previously reduced gas fees by an average of 75%, resulting in a 140% increase in daily transaction volume. The official noted that network resource utilization remains below 30%, indicating the infrastructure can support higher loads.
