In accordance with BitJie, Ripple's RLUSD has expanded its utility as a regulated stablecoin by enabling instant redemption for institutional tokenized funds. BlackRock and VanEck have integrated with the Securitize platform, announced on September 23, 2025, allowing holders of BlackRock’s BUIDL and VanEck’s VBILL to convert their tokenized shares into RLUSD at any time, offering programmable liquidity and real-time settlement. This marks the first integration of RLUSD with Securitize’s infrastructure, which manages over $4 billion in tokenized assets under SEC oversight. The integration connects traditional finance with blockchain, providing institutional investors with on-chain access to DeFi strategies while ensuring compliance. BUIDL, launched in March 2024, now manages over $2 billion in assets; VBILL, launched in May 2025, offers tokenized U.S. Treasury exposure across multiple blockchains. RLUSD is fully backed 1:1 by USD reserves and issued under the New York State Department of Financial Services (NYDFS) trust charter, ensuring regulatory transparency and stability. Ripple’s Senior Vice President of Stablecoins, Jack McDonald, emphasized the integration as a 'natural next step' in bridging traditional finance and crypto, highlighting RLUSD’s role in delivering 'regulatory clarity, stability, and real-world utility.' Securitize CEO Carlos Domingo called the partnership 'a significant step forward in automating liquidity for tokenized assets,' enabling 'real-time settlement and programmable liquidity' for compliant investment products. Since its launch in late 2024, RLUSD’s market cap has exceeded $740 million, supported by third-party audits and independent reserves. The stablecoin is integrated into Ripple’s cross-border payment solutions and DeFi liquidity pools. BUIDL redemptions via RLUSD are already live, with VBILL support expected in the coming days. The integration highlights the growing adoption of blockchain in institutional finance, as Ripple and Securitize expand access to tokenized assets while adhering to regulatory frameworks. RLUSD’s 24/7 service and instant settlement meet institutional liquidity needs, reducing reliance on traditional banking hours. This development aligns with the broader trend of asset tokenization, where real-world assets are increasingly digitized to improve efficiency and accessibility. Starting from September 2025, RLUSD’s adoption will expand beyond U.S. institutions, with plans to integrate the XRP Ledger (XRPL) and enter markets such as Japan and Dubai. The partnership with Securitize further solidifies RLUSD’s position as a key player in the institutional-grade stablecoin space, supporting innovation in tokenized finance and cross-border transactions.
