As per Odaily, stablecoin giant Tether is reportedly seeking a $150 million to $200 million private funding round at a $50 billion valuation. The company, which manages nearly $173 billion in USDT, reported a $4.9 billion net profit in Q2 2025 and holds $162.5 billion in reserves. Tether plans to launch a new compliant stablecoin, USAT, to align with the U.S. GENIUS Act, and has appointed Bo Hines, former Trump administration digital asset advisor, as its U.S. CEO. The move signals a shift from regulatory evasion to active engagement. Meanwhile, competitors like Circle and DeFi platforms are also expanding their stablecoin offerings.
